The Flathead Valley has recently gotten national attention for its population of white supremacist groups and invidiuals. "Love Not Hate" is a gathering to celebrate diversity and take a stand against racism and other forms of oppression. Local leaders of diverse backgrounds will speak about the importance of accepting differences and rejecting hateful rhetoric. There will also be live music, including renowned Blackfeet singer Jack Gladstone and local country bluegrass star Halladay Quist. Halau Ka Waikahe Lani Malie of Kalispell will perform a traditional hula dance. Imagine IF Library will be setting up a kids' corner in one our heated tents. The local nonprofit Love Lives Here and the Montana Human Rights Network are co-sponsoring this event along with the generous local businesses and private donors that have also contributed. We will be serving up free snacks and hot beverages. We're planning to have a warming station and some heaters dispersed throughout the area to keep people warm. Please join us to stand for "Love Not Hate" in our community!
