Dark and Deep: A Flathead Valley Solstice Celebration

  • Lawrence Park 1105 North Main Street Kalispell, MT, 59901 United States (map)

The Glacier Unitarian Universalist Fellowship is hosting a celebration of the winter solstice at 5:30pm on Thursday, December 21 at Lawrence Park.

On the longest, darkest night of the year, we will be gathering with individuals and groups around the valley to honor the winter, the earth, and those who came before us.

Speakers will make small presentations, including fire-starting, drumming and spoken word to celebrate this special time of the year when nature experiences a time of healing and rest. The program is sponsored by local groups such as the Shining Mountain Center for Spiritual Living, Climate Smart Glacier Country, the Audubon Society, Ravenwood Outdoor Learning Center, Love Lives Here in the Flathead Valley, the Crown of the Continent Choir, and Glacier Unitarian Universalist Fellowship

The entire event is free to the public and will take place outdoors, complete with a bonfire and hot cider.
