Close the Camps: Work Event to Take Action for Migrant Families
Friday, July 12 from 5:30 PM – 7 PM
The Museum at Central School
124 2nd Ave E, Kalispell, Montana 59901

We’re all feeling overwhelmed by the stories of unthinkable conditions that migrant families are facing as they flee violence and seek asylum. Close the Camps is an event where you can take action and tell our legislators that overcrowded, unsanitary, for-profit detention centers are immoral.

We will have a few speakers and a little music, plus we will take a few moments to remember the children who have died in detention. However, this is a time to

Here's what we'll be doing:
- Signing postcards to send to legislators
- Learning how to call or fax legislators (even if you don't have a fax machine!)
- Getting action items to continue at home in the coming weeks
- Collecting personal care items for migrant workers who are coming to pick cherries in the Flathead Valley soon

We will also have yard and window signs for sale that say, "In our America, all people are equal, love wins, Black lives matter, immigrants and refugees are welcome, disabilities are respected, women are in charge of their bodies, people & planet are valued over profit, and diversity is celebrated."

You can also make a cash donation so we can purchase more of these items.
