Community Spirit Monument at Woodland Park, Kalispell

Many of you have heard about an Indigenous teen girl who went missing on New Year's Day and was found dead on January 20. Community members are hosting a candlelight vigil to honor the memory of this girl, Selena Shelley Not Afraid, who is from from the Crow Nation.

There are many unanswered questions around her disappearance and death, and we want to encourage support for her family as they wait for the results of the investigation. A few local Native people reached out to Love Lives Here to ask if we could host a vigil for Selena, and we said yes.

All people in the community, Native and non-Native, are welcome to attend this vigil. We will meet at the Community Spirit Monument for a time of reflection, mourning, and hope.

Please note that this is an outdoor candlelight vigil, so please dress warmly. We will provide a safe candle alternative for children.
